Businesses that continue to advertise through a crisis grow and often gain ground on their top competitors. Efficiency is also very important, as companies that allocate resources wisely during a downturn generally come out ahead. Although there’s a lot of uncertainty in today’s market, we can say with confidence that SEO works and, if performed effectively, SEO is also some of the best value for your marketing dollar. We have improved the efficiency of SEO through our use of the Web3 Framework, as well as the efficiency of our processes when implementing on-page and off-page SEO.
During a downturn in the economy (especially one with physical isolation), it’s almost impossible not to feel the effects, however, it is important to remember that the best kind of SEO campaign is a “shared project,” between the business owner and the SEO provider. What do we mean by that? Well, it’s much easier to add pages, create content and generally perform SEO when we understand our clients’ business (not just where they are today, but where they want to be in 6 months, a year, two years etc.). Clients that contribute to content, participate in ongoing meetings and respond to monthly SEO reports always come out ahead. So, if you have a little bit of extra time on your hands, we would like to challenge you to improve your online presence by taking a more active role in your SEO.
When everyone stops advertising, opportunities open up
Over the last month, our monthly SEO reports were as positive as ever. We have noticed that since we are still building up both internal and external factors for our clients, on a monthly basis, our results have been very positive (since many companies are cutting back and perhaps placing less of an emphasis on SEO).
In conclusion, we aim to help our clients make the right decisions (for them) during this uncertain time. We encourage companies to make well-thought-out and informed decisions about their marketing, not just impulsive ones. With most businesses, there is an opportunity to expand market share online (and in some cases take more of the business online) – We are happy to help you structure an action plan during this challenging time.
Internal SEO refers to the process of optimizing the content and structure of your website (more specifically, specific landing pages within your website). There are many internal elements that factor in when optimizing your website; they include the following:
- The loading speed of your website
- The responsive structure of your website (how it resizes on smartphones and tablets and how the sizing compares to Google’s size guidelines)
- The content of your website (there are many on-page elements that factor in; these elements include your page title, H1 tag, URL, H2, H3 H4, meta description, alt tags, and several others)
- The design & marketing behind your website (although the design of your website doesn’t directly impact SEO, it does impact how users interact with your website, which, in turn, impacts your rankings)
External SEO refers to the process of developing the external factors that impact your rankings on search engines like Google. The biggest external factor is citations/inbound links to your website (not like from your website to other websites, but rather, links from other websites to your website). Higher quality links have a bigger impact on your rankings (Google generally likes links that are relevant to your website, as well as links that are high authority and local).
As a rule of thumb, monthly SEO plans range from $800/month all the way up to $3500+/month. The cost of monthly SEO is directly related to the keywords your website is targeting (how competitive the keywords are and the number of keywords and regions your website is targeting). If your website (and content) is built/written properly (for example websites built on the Web3 Framework) monthly SEO will generally take less time to deliver first-page results. Although some providers charge less, we strongly recommend looking at an SEO provider’s track record, reviews, and overall specialties before making your decision.
We usually recommend committing to monthly SEO for a minimum of 6 months. However, in most cases, significant results are accomplished in the first 3-4 months. If the internal content is written and optimized by us, page-one results can be accomplished much faster.
It is also important to remember that the history of your website plays a role. If you’ve been ranked on page #2 or page #3 for the last year or two and you’ve had your website active for the last three years, you will generally have quicker results than an SEO campaign performed on a website built on a brand-new domain.
